X-Men Origins: Wolverine

wolverineA quick synopsis from Rotten Tomatoes:

Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a superstar – as the fierce fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury.

Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine’s epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program.

Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film series have long been anticipated.

wolverine

I don’t know if it’s because I was a fan of the TV show as a kid or the fact that I’ve always wanted to have wolverine-like powers but there’s just something about the X-Men series that gets me every time.

So far most reviews have not been kind but I happen to think that the movie was a lot of fun to watch despite a couple of moments of some pretty bad CGI.

wolverine and gambitAs you’d expect there’s plenty of action scenes… but beyond that I just enjoyed sitting back and watching the story of James Logan (aka Wolverine) unfold.

If you do end up going to check this one out make sure you stick around after the credits to watch the additional scenes.

I think it’s definitely worth a watch… weather it’s at the movies or on DVD when it comes out.

I am no movie critic, but I thought the latest X-men movie was well worth watching.

I liked how the sci-fi angle was toned down a little and I thought the story-line had integrity and kept me interested. I am a fan of biographies and this prequel focuses on Wolverine’s journey as opposed to following the exploits of the X-men pack.

The love part of the story is similar to what Twilight did for Vampires – focused on the human emotions of the main character to make him seem less mutant – I’m a girl these things matter!

The opening scene sported some really cool special effects and I didn’t see the twist at the end coming at all – so don’t listen to nerdy movie bloggers – see the film and you won’t be dissapointed!

I just cant handle Hugh Jackman trying to look tough. He’s more at home doing the boy from oz and musicals I think.
He’s a nancy boy. It like when you’re a kid playing army with your mates and your sister wants to play.
